THE time is nearly upon us for the annual festive clear out, with recycling centres ready and waiting for your post-Christmas rubbish.

Residents of the Wycombe district are being reminded that real Christmas trees can be cut into smaller pieces and put into green recycling bins or reusable bags.

Alternatively they can be taken to household waste recycling centres or one of the following garden centres taking part in this year's recycling scheme: Notcutts Garden Centre, Clay Lane, Booker; Bourne End Garden Centre, Hedsor Road, Bourne End; West Wycombe Garden Centre, Chorley Road, West Wycombe; Studley Green Garden Store, Wycombe Road, Studley Green; Marlow Garden Centre, Pump Lane South, Little Marlow.

Residents are also reminded to check on their waste collection calendars to find out when their next pick-up will be, with dates having been amended over the festive period.

Wrapping paper and greetings cards can be recycled in the paper and card recycling box, unwanted clothes can be put into red textile sacks - or taken to a charity shop.

Garden waste bins and reusable bag collections will be suspended this week and next, resuming from January 13.
