THE Mayor of High Wycombe teamed up with Santa to hand out Christmas presents to children and raise money for charity.
Mayor Trevor Snaith and Father Christmas jumped aboard the Rotary Club of High Wycombe’s sleigh to present gifts to children in Micklefield and the Wycombe Marsh area of town on December 22.
They were also collecting donations for the Mayor’s Appeal, raising more than £800 for Child Bereavement UK and the One Can Trust.
Mayor Snaith said: “We had children queuing up down the street to meet Santa, we were going to stop due to the weather but ended up going on past 9pm as there were so many children – it was wonderful.
“A gentleman said to me the sleigh hadn’t been down to parts of the east side of the town so we made it happen – I will be suggesting to whoever is the next Mayor that it’s something that should be done more often.”
