PERMISSION has been given for a business to extend their office in Longwick.

Briants of Risborough asked for planning permission for a change of use of the ground floor at Winton House in Thame Road.

They asked to change it from residential to an office area and planning approval was given by Wycombe District Council, under a delegated decision.

The company, which is a significant local employer, supply garden and agricultural equipment and materials.

The planning application said the success of the business has led to office overcrowding and there is a need for additional office space at the company’s Longwick site.

Winton House was originally constructed as a detached dwelling and has been let out on a short term basis to various tenants, unrelated to the business, and is next to the office.

The application added: " The layout of the offices is poor and cramped and does not provide good working conditions."

The proposal was to use the whole of the ground floor of the building as offices and to reconfigure the first and second floors to create a three-bedroomed maisonette with its own entrance. Planning permission was given.
