A 66 -YEAR-OLD man from Buckinghamshire has been arrested today as part of an investigation into alleged corrupt payments to public officials.
The man, a former member of HM Prison Service staff, was arrested at a residential address in Bucks on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and taken to a Thames Valley police station.
The arrest came as part of the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Elveden inquiry, into claims that journalists paid public officials for information.
The man has been bailed to a date in May 2014.
Operation Elveden is running alongside Operation Weeting, an inquiry into phone-hacking, and Operation Tuleta, an inquiry into computer hacking and other breaches of privacy.
