A SERIES of 10k runs are coming to the capital over the coming month to raise money for essential research into heart disease - and residents from all over are encouraged to take part.

They are being organised by the British Heart Foundation charity, which has branches in High Wycombe, Marlow and Amersham.

GB Heptathlete and British Heart Foundation Running Champion, Louise Hazel, has launched the five events coming up between May and November.

Wednesday, May 7 - Tower of London Run (5k or 10k) Wednesday, May 21 - Canary Wharf Jog Sunday, August 3 - Victoria Park Run Saturday, August 16 - Greenwich Royal Park Run (5k or 10k and a kids 1km fun run to start the morning) Saturday October 4 (TBC) - Hyde Park Run (5k or 10k) Around 200,000 people are living with heart disease in the capital and over 6,500 people in London die each year from coronary heart disease - the UK’s single biggest killer.
