A GROUP of residents who have been campaigning to stop land separating Bourne End and Wooburn Green being developed on are to hold a picnic this weekend.
The ‘Picnic on the Village Green’ organised by Save Slate Meadow will give residents a chance to use the wanted land.
A number of residents from the surrounding roads have been invited to the event on Sunday, July 20.
As well as offering villagers a chance to use the space in Slate Meadow it will also offer a fun day out for families.
There is expected to be a wellie race on the meadow with a king and queen of Bourne End and Wooburn Green due to be crowned.
Pictures of the meadow by amateur photographer Nathan Stone will also be displayed and children with the best fancy dress will receive prizes.
