The famous faces of High Wycombe’s pantomime have vowed to bring glitz and glamour to the town this winter as preparations for the family favourite, Cinderella, get underway.

Pineapple Dance Studio’s Louie Spence and Birds of a Feather’s Linda Robson form part of the star studded cast heading to the Wycombe Swan Theatre in December.

The pair have promised a “real family event” peppered with pirouettes, high kicks and the odd innuendo for the older members of the audience as well as their own original twists during this classic show.

Louie will dance across the stage as Prince Charming’s royal manservant Dandini and Linda will take on the motherly role of the fairy godmother after both characters were carefully written with the stars in mind.

Louie said: “People expect to be entertained with pantos, more so than other shows. There is great audience interaction, it is a real family event.

“They want the sparkle, the glitz and glamour which this is full of. Whatever they are expecting they are going to get more because we are doing it.

“They characterise it around the actors so you get a bit of each of us in the story.

"It is just the entertainment side it is really fun for the whole family and we love doing it which makes a difference.”

The cast have described Cinderella as the “best panto ever” with something for everyone including added comedy from comedian Bobby Davro - who is playing Buttons.

Sarah Vaughn - whose credits include Channel 4's Ripper Street - will take centre stage as Cinderella and Luke Kelly will play her Prince Charming.

Rehearsals will not kick off until two weeks before the show begins so the actors face an intense schedule leading up to the panto – but it is all part of the fun according to the cast.

Linda said: “It is going to be about a 2.5 hour show and normally if you do something in the west end you get months to rehearse but we get the two weeks.

“I am just thanking god I don’t have any dance routines or singing routines to learn really I can just concentrate on the lines.

“Cinderella is the best Panto I think because you have a bit of everything in there, you have the baddies with the ugly sisters, then the romance and Cinderella of course.”

Wycombe Swan Theatre Director, Simon Stallworthy, said he is “delighted” to be welcoming the cast: “After the huge success we had last year with Craig Revel Horwood, I’m delighted that we will be welcoming this wonderful trio of talent to the Wycombe Swan.

“We couldn’t have wished for a more entertaining team, and I’m starting to get excited for Christmas already.”

Cinderella runs from Saturday, December 10 to Saturday, December 31 and tickets are on sale from wycombeswan.co.uk or 01494 512 000.
