Contenders for Chesham byelection announced

FIVE candidates will contest a byelection in Chesham next month.

The seat for the Waterside ward on the town council is currently vacant after Jane Bramwell, a former mayor of Chesham, resigned earlier this month.

The five contenders are Francis Holly - a former Lib Dem councillor who lost his seat at the last local elections - Christine Boxer of the Conservative party, Labour's David Cross, Reg Amos of UKIP and Green Party candidate Phil Folly.

Polling will take place from 7am-10pm at Christ Church Hall on Thursday November 15, at the same time as the Police Commissioner elections.

Counting will then take place the next day at Chesham Leisure Centre.
