GHOULISH fundraisers from Buckinghamshire New University and Wycombe Hospital got together for a fancy-dress bucket collection to raise a fang-tastic amount in aid of the charity, Scannappeal.

The fundraisers collected £151 for the charity, which raises funds to purchase life-saving equipment for Amersham, Stoke Mandeville, Wycombe and community hospitals.

Amanda de Grey, a support secretary in the orthopaedic department at Wycombe Hospital, joined up with student Anna Kovalska and Bucks employee Vee Melvin to collect the money at the University’s Campus in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe.

The trio dressed up as a vampire, Frankenstein’s bride and a Goth, respectively, and were supported by the Arts4Every1 Centre in Desborough Road, High Wycombe, where Amanda is also a volunteer. Face-painting was carried out by Troublemaker Theatre Company, based in Maidenhead, with Red Lantern Productions.

Ms de Grey said: “We were delighted to raise such a fantastic amount in aid of a very worthy cause and thank everyone who donated for their generosity. Dressing up added a bit of Halloween fun to the occasion. It went very well.”
