Six arrests made in connection with Wycombe Marsh shooting
SIX people have been arrested this morning in connection with a shooting in London Road, High Wycombe, which happened in January.
A 20-year-old man was shot near the Disraeli pub in Wycombe Marsh on January 7 this year, though his condition was not thought to be life-threatening (see related links).
Thirteen arrests were made over the following few days but no one was charged.
Today police have arrested six people, two aged 26, two aged 18, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, all on suspicion of attempted murder. They are all from High Wycombe and currently remain in police custody.
Wycombe Chief Inspector Colin Seaton said: “This has been a lengthy investigation over many months and I would like to offer the reassurance that, as with every serious incident, we will follow every line of enquiry as we carry out a thorough investigation.
“However, I cannot stress enough how important it is for anyone who knows anything about what happened, or who is involved, to come forward and speak to us.
“Although detectives are actively progressing this enquiry, you will still see the reassuring presence of additional officers in the area not only to help keep the community safe but answer any questions you might have.
“This incident involved young people and we are committed to ensuring that we prevent any more from happening so will continue to work closely with our partners, including Wycombe District Council and local schools to educate and inform both young people and their parents/carers to think about their actions and understand the consequences of their behaviour before it is too late.”
If you have any information to help with the enquiries, contact Thames Valley Police via 101 or if you prefer to remain anonymous, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
