New train timetable launched online today following consultation
7:30am Friday 9th November 2012 in News By Rebecca Cain
Princes Risborough Train Station
THE new Chiltern Railways timetable is available to view online from today.
The train company said there will be more than 600 extra peak time seats into London and 5,000 extra seat at weekends across the network.
The new timetable will begin on Sunday, December 9 and will change train times between Buckinghamshire and London.
More than 700 people responded to the public consultation earlier in the year on the proposed changes.
Following an assessment of the responses, it added further changes to the new timetable.
There is an additional non-stop service to London from Princes Risborough at 6.53am.
And the train company has retimed a train to remove a long gap in the evening for commuters travelling from London to Little Kimble.
The consultation also highlighted concerns about the off peak service at Seer Green and Jordans following changes to the timetable in May 2012.
But Chiltern Railways said the average number of passengers on these services was five passengers per train, so there will continue to be an hourly service in the December timetable.
However, the 7.48pm train from London Marylebone will now stop at the station.
The timetable is available online today at www.chilternrailways.co.uk or hard copies will be available at stations from November 23.

It's wrong that many other operators offer late night trains due to access agreements yet we have to put up with the last train being just after midnight.
The last trains are always packed and people always say they wish they could stay out longer and enjoy the capital a litle more later in the evening!
Start some talks Chiltern!

I lost so much work when they cut the 0530 train from HW just because I was unwilling to pay the stupid london parking fees with congestion charge because my work is normally 0600 start till 1600...

So, back to the car, with 2 hours between trains, it's not worth the risk.
Lets hope Chiltern lose the franchise and someone can come in to provide the sort of service a train line should give, i.e providing commuters with a service and reducing car traffic.
