A VIDEO of a flash mob performing the dance routine to Psy’s global hit Gangnam Style in High Wycombe has become a YouTube sensation.

More than 150 Zumba dancers dressed in black and white spontaneously pulled out the shapes of the South Korean rapper in front of a crowd of surprised shoppers in Church Street.

The video has racked up more than 5,000 views and counting on the video-sharing website.

Organisers Stef Stokes and Odie Meredith from We Love Zumba Fitness hailed the brave dancers for ticking an item off their bucket list.

Odie said: “It was one from the bucket list. We’re all ladies of a certain age and we were saying we wanted to something exciting for our kids.

“It was brilliant fun but, as I was at the front, I daren’t look round just in case I was the only one doing it! But then I heard everyone shout behind me and it was such a relief.”

Stef added: “It takes a bit of bottle to do such a silly dance in the middle of town but it was about letting go and having fun.

“And we actually had quite a few people who were walking by drop their shopping bags and join in. It was great fun but definitely a one off.”

Psy smashed the world record for ‘most liked video ever’ yesterday with the Gangnam Style promo. It has almost five million likes on YouTube and the song has reached number one in 28 countries.
