Letters: Readers lament NHS changes - but hospital staff are 'wonderful' (From Bucks Free Press)

• "I think that the staff of all of our local hospitals do a magic job and all go above and beyond what is expected of them.
  They are like angels and heroes, every single one of them in all surrounding hospitals.
  It was only last weekend that my wife was treated in Wycombe Hospital by a wonderful and helpful Doctor.
  My issue is with the managers, bureaucrats and politicians that deal with the running of these hospitals and in allocating the budgets and who make decisions on us losing our services, etc
  I shall give you an example of the process that In order for my wife to be seen by a doctor she had to first call her local Doctor Surgery, who then patched the call through to a regional or national call centre – who then took down her details and asked questions, then having to wait for not one but two calls later to then arrange a time for us to go and visit the out of hours Dr’s in Wycombe main Hospital (not the new unit that replaced the A&E department) – Where she was then seen by an actual Doctor and successfully diagnosed.
  In my mind there should be less administration and management in the system and more nurses and doctors."
