A COFFEE shop in Chesham looks set to be converted into a bank after plans were submitted to a council.
An application to change the Starbucks branch in High Street into a bank or building society has been made to Chiltern District Council.
The two bedroom flat above the shop, which is currently vacant, would also become part of the bank if planning permission is granted.
Starbucks is currently in the process of leaving the premises, while the applicant has suggested a major financial firm has already expressed an interest to moving into the property once the coffee shop chain has left town.
The planning application requests a change in use from retail to financial services. A decision on whether to grant approval to the proposals is likely to be made by the end of the year.
