AN EIGHT-year-old girl has made the bold decision to have her long hair cut to help children with cancer.

Jessica King from Ashfield Way in Hazlemere told her parents, Dean and Kelly, she wanted to cut her long hair for Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs for children with hair loss through cancer treatment.

Dean said his daughter who goes to Manor Farm Junior School has sent off for all the information from the charity.

He said: "It put a lump in my throat a little bit when she told me.

"Hair to little girls is very important to them but she really wants to do this."

At the same time she will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Trust.

Dean's mum, Beryl, passed away aged 54 from cancer.

Dean said: "She didn't know her but we always talk about my mum.

"Jessica is a very caring girl."

He said Jessica, who has a brother called Alfie, four, will get her hair cut on December 8.
