DIAMOND jewellery was among the items stolen in a smash and grab raid on a jewellers in Gerrards Cross yesterday, police have confirmed.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after yesterday morning’s raid, which is believed to have involved two men wielding sledgehammers.

Police were called to the scene at Bucks Goldsmiths in Packhorse Road at around 11.45am.

They would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a grey or silver BMW estate pull up onto the pavement outside the shop.

Two men then smashed their way through the window and into the display using sledgehammers.

They left the scene in the same vehicle, heading in the direction of the A40. Officers said a third man was driving the car.

Police say they are unable to confirm the value of the items that were taken at this time, but did reveal that diamond jewellery was on display in the window.

The shop was previously robbed in March last year and had its front window smashed by an axe in a 2009 raid.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Nick Hind on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
