Sledgehammer break-in at Costa in Bourne End

Sledgehammer break-in at Costa Sledgehammer break-in at Costa

A SLEDGEHAMMER was used to smash into a coffee shop in Bourne End this morning – prompting a police appeal for witnesses.

Officers said four offenders broke through the front door of Costa Coffee on The Parade between 5.37 and 5.50am.

They stole cash from a safe and ran off after exiting through the same route.

The incident comes three days after a break-in at the nearby Co-operative supermarket in Wakeman Road.

Police said three people gained entry to the shop at 4.50am on Friday by smashing a front door panel.

They then forced open a shutter and emptied cigarette packets into a bin liner.

If you witnessed either incident or can help the police call the 24-hour Enquiry Centre on 101.

Useless Thames Valley Police officers ! Always seeking help from the public - the same people and also the victims ! that the police are supposed to be guarding and protecting from criminals. Why not pay the public to solve these issues as it always gets left to the public to identify and solve these issues. It will surely reduce our council tax bills as this stupid useless service will be one less thing to pay for !
Currently as evident , the Police has priorities in attending parties organised by newspaper tycoons, selling sensitive personal information, colluding with phone-hackers, lying on police testimonies and extorting public via means of unfair road traffic fines and unfair penalties.. Surely they got no time to concentrate on robberies, rapes, burglaries and basically all the community policing really !!

At least this happened today. These articles usually get published a week after the event.

Renegade - Your an absolute idiot! The police ask for witnesses because when a case goes to court they usually need witnesses in order for the case to be proved at court!

What an absolute moron you are! By your outlook then if your house gets burgled and there are people stood by watching it they should just ignore it and walk on? And if the police ask if people saw the oiks coming out of your house with your TV you would not want them to call in then no?

Fool

You forgot to mention in your bashing of the police that a police officer died yesterday - on route to an emergency - to help people who had an accident. Of course though you will ignore these types of incidents though wont you?

Thank you for bashing me with your pure wisdom - realist of high wycombe ! Calm down..what's all this anger about ? does your mother not love you enough?

Bashing with anger? Please. If you feel that is anger you need to get out more.

My posts are in the exact same tone as yours.

And it's not about "pure wisdom" as you so kindly put it. It's about responding to such a flippant, silly post.

By the way you did not answer the question I asked. If your house was being Burgled and somebody saw the culprits and could identify them what would you want them to do? Keep quiet and not inform the police? The reason I ask is that you seem to think it's a silly thing for the police to ask for help from the public in tracing witnesses?

Lets hope this prompts the police to start regular night time patrols - I doubt this would have happened when there was a police station opposite.....

Hey realist...I did not ask for your comments or views about myself. I put my post criticising the Police according to my feelings about them. You should have praised the Police according to your own feelings, your experiences and your liking to them...and if you really do not have anger issues then why did you feel it was necessary to call abusive names to other commentators of this post. If you are such a pious, informed and non-judgemental character then keep your abusive name calling habit to yourself , because you are not responsible for censoring or replying to "flippant and silly posts".

The reason I did not reply to your question to me is, simply because as I mentioned above, I do not know you or know that I owe you any explanations, answers, abusive names, quarrels or anything else for that matter. So with due respect, please post your comments and feelings towards the news stories that you feel concern you and move along... and quit calling other people, names and telling them how and what they should think, feel and behave like.

Well looking at all the house break ins and robberies at the moment it looks like they may be the same people going on a rampage it's only a matter of time though.

Unfortunately when you post comments on a news forum especially the ones you have you should be prepared for people to challenge them, and, if quite frankly silly like your comments are be prepared for people to keep on challenging you.

You do not answer my question as you know full well that if you were burgled you would expect the police to investigate and of course appeal for witnesses - which according to yourself is a stupid thing to do - asking potential witnesses for help.

Realist; Please, please, please just stop calling people silly, stupid and fools...Seriously get some anger management treatment and quit poking your head and your intelligence where it not required. Be an adult now and just not reply to this !!! because according to you , anybody who does not think like you is an idiot, stupid and a fool. So are you not being the same by interacting with the same stupid fools and wasting your breath. Just grow up !

Unfortunately we shall see more of these stories. It's probably the same gang and hopefully they will be caught. I believe they struck Co-Operative shop in the early hours of of Sunday morning. They know the Police response time will be at its slowest as they are dealing with drunks etc and general public order. The police are not perfect and like them or not they are under severe pressure due to government cuts. However they do need the public to help them, as maybe potential witnesses or even Special Constables. Moreover it is all "our" community and as individuals have responsibility to protect it for those who undermine our society.
