A WEDDING ring, a gold crucifix and some Turkish currency were among the items stolen from two properties in Penn.

Police have released details of the burglaries today, along with an appeal for witnesses.

The first incident happened between 4.30pm and 9.50pm on Saturday, December 29, when offenders broke into a house in New Road by removing a panel of glass from the front door.

Once inside offenders carried out an untidy search of the house and stole £140 cash, a BlackBerry phone charger, a laptop, video camera, camera, mobile phone, plus a gold crucifix and chain.

Police said the second incident happened at about 7pm, when offenders forced entry to another property in New Road through the kitchen window.

Once inside they carried out an untidy search and stole an iPod, a palm top computer, a ladies' wedding ring, an engagement ring, a gents’ wristwatch, a ladies’ wristwatch and an amount of Turkish foreign currency.
