Homeless art exhibition finally finds a venue

WYCOMBE Library has stepped in to give a home to an art exhibition celebrating the achievements people face in adversity.

The Art at the Shelter exhibition was due to be held at Mom’s Diner but, following a blaze at the Wycombe restaurant in December, it was left without a venue.

But the project featuring pieces of art created by people from the Wycombe Homeless Connection has finally got off the ground at the library and it runs until the end of the month.

Organiser Chris Hall - a former homeless man who started his Wyart organisation from scratch, buying materials and running sessions at The Hub in Easton Street – wanted to give others an outlet.

Most of the work at the exhibition will be by Wyart members but Mr Hall has also submitted a handful of his own canvases.

Entry to the exhibition is free and it is open every day – except Mondays – until January 31.
