Banners set to brighten up Desborough shopping area

DESBOROUGH Road is set to be brightened up by new lamp banners - and businesses are being asked to select what they will look like.

The High Wycombe Business Improvement District Company is asking its members to select from six different designs which will be plastered on street light columns in the Desborough shopping district.

It is part of a move to give the area a strong identity and encourage more people to take a walk past Eden to explore the street’s shops and firms.

BID Chief Executive Oliver O’Dell said: “Desborough Road businesses say they don’t always feel part of the BID area so we’re doing this to give it an identity.

“Alright, banners might not mean much to some people, but it starts the conversation and gets people talking about Desborough.”

They would be better shutting down all the unpalatable food (junk or otherwise) shops that failed and scored zero on the Councils Hygiene Survey issued recently in the last few weeks.
.
Different banners will not alter anything or attract customers if the shops are not fit for use or purpose and are an actual danger to health.
