Snow expected all day tomorrow
SNOW is coming tomorrow with a wintry grip remaining for another week, a Hazlemere forecaster said.
Jim Dale from British Weather Services which is based in Hazlemere said we could get between five and nine cm of snow over the next few days.
He said: "The first thing to say is cold temperatures will persist now for another week at least."
He said it will be sub zero at night and it will be struggling to get above zero during the day.
Mr Dale said the first snowfall is expected to come at about 7 to 8am tomorrow morning.
But it will become steadier between 10am and 2pm.
He said: "It will then ease off to a certain degree without stopping and there will be bits and pieces until it fizzles out on Saturday.
"Sunday will be a gap day.
"Then there is the potential for more trouble on Monday."
He said it will retain a wintry grip at least for another week, and probably longer.
Mr Dale said: "For this part of the world, at a guess as that is all it is, there will be somewhere between five and nine cm of snow."
He said make preparations and put essentials in your car.
He said the snow is suppressed by the very cold conditions that are in situ adding: "We are in the battle ground as much as anyone else."
Mr Dale added: "The problem with Wycombe is because it is so up and down so quickly the valley gradients are so tight.
"This is what happened in 2010- areas got cut off quite quickly."
Update:
Three schools have so far announced they will be closed tomorrow which are Booker Hill School, Cadmore End Church of England School and Chiltern Gate School.
