Pensioner threatened by man wielding bar in her own home
A PENSIONER was threatened in her own home by a man wielding a black pole, police have revealed.
The 80-year-old was left fearing for her safety after the man broke in to her Barnhill Road, Marlow, home at about 6.30pm on Monday.
He threatened the woman with the weapon before stealing her handbag and a quantity of antique silverware, police said.
The woman was unharmed but left shaken by the frightening ordeal.
Investigating officer Det Con Swarn Kohar said: “This was a very frightening ordeal for the victim, who was left fearing for her safety.
“It is hard to comprehend how anyone could threaten an elderly woman in her own home.
“I would like to speak to anyone who saw a man matching the description given, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the burglary.”
The man is described as white, between 20 and 22 years old and of thin build. His face was covered and he was wearing a black anorak-style coat.
Contact the 24-hour enquiry line on 101 with any information or, if you do not wish to speak to police, call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.

'Armed Robbery comes under Section 8 of the Theft Act (1968) has a maximum sentence of Life Imprisonment. The amount stolen is irrelevant and not a mitigating factor when sentence is passed."
If they catch the 'sink filth', he deserves life and nothing less ... plus a public flogging of course.
Any guesses what he's likely to get .... other than a new council house and increased benefits of course.
These vermin need to learn but our bleeding heart brigade and human rights supporters are n his side, not the pensioners !! What a bloody mess we're in. Hope she recovers from her ordeal.

The worst thing of all is theres no shock in reading stories like this anymore especily in Wycombe. What a world we live in.
That by any other definition is 'Armed Robbery', not burglary. 'Armed Robbery comes under Section 8 of the Theft Act (1968) has a maximum sentence of Life Imprisonment. .
Perhaps all the crime that now appears to be happening in Marlow and Maidenhead needs more attention , policing and concern (eg violent street brawls , neighbourhood / street yobos , intimidation and so on even murder).
.
A very worrying situation.
