A LUCKY resident somewhere in the Aylesbury Vale is celebrating after claiming an outstanding £1m National Lottery prize.
The New Year’s Day EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw created 25 millionaires – but one ticketholder had failed to come forward.
But, following a plea by lottery operator Camelot, the resident has now claimed the life-changing sum plus the interest it has generated since the draw.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We’re delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win – what a great way to start 2013.
“It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money.
"We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play.”
