'Super hospital' to be discussed in High Wycombe
2:50pm Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News By Lawrence Dunhill
Dr Phillip Lee
BFP editor Steve Cohen will chair a meeting in High Wycombe on Thursday to discuss radical plans for a regional ‘super hospital’.
GP politician Phillip Lee has already held meetings in Marlow and Maidenhead, where his proposals for a new hospital at Junction 8/9 of the M4 motorway were generally well received.
Bucks hospital chiefs have not been supportive of the plans, however.
The public meeting is at The Hub, which is part of the Union Baptist Church on Easton Street, at 7.30pm.

What difference would it make in having this new super hospital to the people of Wycombe - when we already have to travel a similar distance to nearby hospitals already since a number of services were taken away from us?
Why can’t we just have our lost services returned to us instead?

With the support of another MP, who's constituency also happens to be very close to the new proposed "Super Hospital", the prospect of this going through (no matter what the consequences to those who live further away) is almost a certainty, especially as that other MP happens to be the Home Secretary and senior figure in Tory party. No doubt a few favours will be called in by Ms May.
Watch as Lee and May steamroller this through.

I am surprised Steve Cohen is wasting his time on all this hot air.
There is no money to run the existing services we have - where does he propose the money to fund the building, the staffing, the maintenance and the equipment of this so called superhospital is going to come from.
And as so many others have said... this is not going to benefit the people of Wycombe so why he is even bothering to hold a meeting here?

Wycombe Hospital is now a joke and both Wexham and Stoke Mandeville are failing to cope with the overflow. BFP recently reported on patients waiting to be seen at Stoke Mandeville A&E having to sit on the floor because there was no space!
