Stark warning to boy racers
BOY racers who blight the lives of residents with late night noise at a car park have been warned they face serious consequences if they continue.
Lower car park within Court Gardens, Pound Lane, has been a trouble spot for a number of years but the problem appeared to have gone away for a period.
However, recently the issue has resurfaces after numerous complaints about anti-social behaviour.
Marlow Town Council, working with police, have found volunteers to reinstate an over night lock.
Barriers will be put down in the car park overnight, between the hours of 10pm and 7am, Monday to Friday. At weekends and on Bank Holidays, the barriers will be opened by 9.30am. Inspector Ray Wilks had a stark message for anyone flouting the law.
“The barrier is only one method, there will still be police enforcement going on and if we catch anyone driving in an anti-social manner we have the power to seize their vehicle and we will do so.
“You could even run the risk of losing your licence.”
Police do patrol the site during night shifts, he added.
Mayor Jocelyn Towns said: “We have had lots of complaints because anti-social behaviour has started again.
"For the residents on Pound Lane it really bothers them because they're putting up with noisy cars doing wheelies are around the car park with tyres screeching. It's making life uncomfortable for them.
“We have got a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour and we are working closely with the police to support them as well.”

Gotta get some perspective to get the policing right in this valley, glad no real crime or civilians have been injured yet.
