Thousands donated to community groups by the Freemasons

ALMOST £40,000 has been donated to groups in the area by the Buckinghamshire Freemasons. The Freemasons Fund started making donations in late 2010.

They have donated £39,500 to 15 projects, including Chiltern Music Therapy, who were given £3,000 towards the costs of new music equipment so they can support more young people with learning and behavioural difficulties.

The Dial-A-Ride service in Chilterns and South Bucks received £4,875 towards a computerised booking system so that they can offer a more efficient service to their customers and £2,274 was given to Skidz in High Wycombe for more diagnostic testing equipment for their motor mechanic training with young people.

The Freemasons Fund was set up as part of the Grassroots Endowment Match Challenge.

This has now been replaced by the Community First Endowment Scheme, through which the government matches all endowment donations with an extra 50 per cent.

This scheme is open to anyone – private individuals, businesses, trusts, schools - to contribute to support their community.
