HMV jobs cut in Marlow

HMV jobs cut in Marlow HMV jobs cut in Marlow

EIGHT jobs at the Marlow office of HMV are to be axed, administrators have just confirmed.

Redundancies have been announced in the last half an hour by Deloitte which took control of the troubled retailer after it fell into financial difficulties in January.

The eight positions at HMV's registered group head offices at Windsor House in Spittal Street, Marlow, are part of wider job cuts being announced this afternoon.

With the announcement just breaking Deloitte told the BFP it could not provide any more updates at the moment on the Marlow office and it is not clear how many staff exactly will remain.

HMV previously said ten to 15 workers operate at the office.

Other job losses have been made in London and Solihull.

Nick Edwards, Joint Administrator, said: “Following our announcement of the closure of 66 stores yesterday, it has been necessary to consider the head office support required for the reduced store portfolio.

"As a result of this review, a number of redundancies at the head office have been made.  This has been a difficult decision, but a necessary one in restructuring the business.

"We would like to express our gratitude to staff for their continued support during the administration.”

Yesterday it was revealed that the High Wycombe HMV would remain - at least for now.
