Clothes retailer Benetton to shut

A MARLOW town centre clothes retailer has confirmed it will be gone in the next fortnight.

Benetton fashion store closed last year, then returned to Liston Court towards the end of 2012.

However, the lease was only temporary and the new occupants have been unable to renegotiate a rent at a level they find affordable.

Businesswoman Tina Taylor took over the business in October but it will shut on February 17.

She said: "Marlow has been a fabulous little town to be in. It's a shame because there's definitely a market and there's been great support."

Mrs Taylor also owns a franchise in Beaconsfield and said customers are welcome to exchange any products bought in Marlow at her other store.

She said the Marlow store employed only a few part time staff but would not confirm exactly how many.

A closing down sale has begun.
