POLICE are hunting for two offenders after a pedestrian was assaulted in Chesham and suffered a serious cut above his right eye.

The male victim had been walking along the footpath that runs between Pond Park Road and Shelley Road at about 2.20pm on Friday.

The two offenders, who may have been driving a 2004 black Ford Mondeo, struck the victim around the head with an ‘object’ and caused a serious laceration above his right eye.

The victim was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital and received treatment for his injuries.

Detective Constable Gareth Morley said: “We urge anyone who may have seen what happened to contact us. In particular we would like to speak to people who were in Shelley Road.

“The exact circumstances around this attack are not clear and I am urging anyone who has further information that could help us with the investigation to contact me.”
