Former Wanderers owner has bail extended Former Wanderers owner has bail extended

WYCOMBE Wanderers' former owner Steve Hayes has had his bail extended following his arrest by the Metropolitan Police last year.

The former Wasps chief was questioned on February 24, 2012, on suspicion of committing offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 as part of Operation Tuleta.

Operation Tuleta was set up by Scotland Yard in the wake of the News International phone hacking scandal – but Mr Hayes was not arrested in connection with the activities of journalists.

In a statement, Mr Hayes said: "I am continuing to co-operate fully with the police in what has been a protracted investigation.

“Although I am unable to go into specific details at this time, I have not been charged with any offence and I am confident that the police will eventually drop this line of investigation.”

The Metropolitan Police force would not comment on Operation Tuleta but did confirm bail dates had been extended until the end of May.
