A PARISH councillor criticised the Co-op for not responding to a car parking problem in Walters Ash when he said they brand themselves as community minded.
At Hughenden Parish Council's meeting on Tuesday night councillors discussed the parking problems outside Co-Operative, the petrol station and other retail units in the village.
Councillor Richard Pushman has donated £250 from his ward budget towards a feasibility study into car parking.
But acting chairman for the evening, Roger Beavil, said he was disappointed they had heard no response from the Co-op to put money towards it.
He said: "I am really disappointed with the reaction of the Co-op on this.
"The co-op are dragging their heels when they are meant to be for the community."
Cllrs suggested getting in touch with the Co-Op store directly rather than going to head office.
A spokesman from The Co-operative Food said: "As a community retailer, the opinions of the local community are of the utmost importance to us. We would be very interested in the results of the proposed study and would consider a joint initiative to alleviate any parking issues in the area."
