Firefighters rescue driver from flooded road in Hedsor
FIREFIGHTERS rescued a driver after he tried to drive through a flooded road in Hedsor this morning.
John Roads, crew manager at Beaconsfield Fire Station, said the car had got stuck in a ford on Hedsor Lane which was about four-and-a-half feet deep.
The incident happened at about 11am and he said afterwards: “It’s a single track lane where the water had come off the hills. It’s often flooded there according to the locals.”
“We waded out and released the male driver and a 15-year-old girl.”
He said water had poured into the vehicle and the pair had to climb out of the boot after firefighters used poles to check the ground was safe.
Crew manager Roads added: “If you see water across a flooded road do not attempt to drive through it as the depth can be unclear.”
