PROCEDURES have started into recovering £28,200 of public money which was siphoned off from Hughenden parish accounts by a former clerk.

Lynne Turner, 50, of Tancred Road, High Wycombe was sentenced to nine months in prison last Friday after being found guilty of ten counts of fraud.

The court heard she transferred £28,200 from Hughenden Parish Council’s bank account, where she was clerk, to her own in 31 different transactions.

There will be a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing on May 20 at Oxford Crown Court, at which any confiscation order will be made as the court sees fit.
