Reports: Dreams buyout 'could be completed in days'

Reports: Dreams could be 'bought within days' Reports: Dreams could be 'bought within days'

BED company Dreams could be bought by a private equity group within a matter of days, according to reports.

Sun European Partners has moved to the front of the queue for the Loudwater bed specialist after it was put up for sale earlier this year.

The Sun reported today that administrators could be called in by Dreams within the next 24 hours, but the BFP understands Sun European are locked in talks to acquire the firm but no deal has yet been struck.

But any agreement could involve a so-called ‘pre-pack administration’, which may result in some store closures and job cuts, the Financial Times reports.

Mike Clare remains interested in buying back the company he founded in 1985 and has been working with a buyout firm on a potential deal.

Sun European and Dreams would not comment on the reports.

Dreams would be a boost to Sun European’s growing stable of furniture firms - it already owns sofa retailer ScS and bedroom furniture chain Sharps.

Hope the new bosses treat thier staff better than the current lot, total bunch of bullies. Unacceptable, unprofessional, and very bad for business if staff moral is so low.
