A FLORIST’S pretty arrangement has secured her place at gardening’s showpiece event.

Sarah Atkins’ stormed through the regional heats to gain a place at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show, which celebrates its centenary in May.

The 22-year-old’s brief was to design a piece a gold medal winning Chelsea gardner could carry to a wedding ceremony – and her arrangement wowed the judges, scoring 89 out of a possible 100.

The high-scoring arrangement has been on display at Pink’s Florist in Hazlemere, where the Holmer Green resident has worked for four years.

She said: “I was in total shock when I found out I was through.

“I celebrated with the girls in the shop and customers that have come in and seen it have been lovely, really supportive.

“I’m absolutely thrilled, the Chelsea Flower Show is the pinnacle for my profession, it’s something I have always wanted to achieve but I never thought I’d do it this early in my career. I’m very proud.”
