Gillan lets the train take the strain Gillan lets the train take the strain

MP Cheryl Gillan enjoyed a train journey into London from the driver’s viewpoint on Tuesday.

The Chesham and Amersham MP accompanied the driver of a tube train from Chesham station to Baker Street on the Metropolitan Line.

Her aim was to discover more about the lineside maintenance, signalling and other work being done as part of a £4.73billion upgrade to replace all trains and signalling on the Metropolitan, District and Hammersmith and City lines.

When at Baker Street she toured the Signal Control rooms with Underground representatives Andrew Miles and Deepak Paretha, who explained to her how they dealt with emergencies and signalling issues.

Mrs Gillan said: "I was thoroughly impressed by what I saw and thanked the staff for all their efforts in keeping the trains running and providing a fantastic service for my constituents."

I'm not so sure anyone, let alone a desperate-for-public
ity aging politician, wants to appear under a banner headline made famous by a now infamous former charity fund-raiser.

...and when I asked if my 6 y/o boy could do that I never got a response. He probably cares about trains more than she does!
