HIGH Wycombe’s ancient Mayor Making ceremony will feature on Ade Edmondson’s television series this week.

The ‘weighing-in’ of current Mayor Cllr Chauhdry Shafique last May will be screened on Ade in Britain at 4pm on ITV on Thursday.

It will also feature the Chess Vale Barbershop Singers (aka The Knights of Harmony) who sing for their supper on the show.

Ade cooks up a Buckinghamshire Bacon Badger (a steamed suet pudding) out of the back of his cooking caravan pulled by a mini.

The Knights of Harmony sang a couple of songs outside the front of Claydon House.

In the show he also meets the last remaining Aylesbury duck breeder and builds his own traditional Windsor chair.

This year’s Mayor Making festivities will take place on Saturday, May 18 at about 11.45, with Cllr Trevor Snaith taking over the mayoral chains
