Someone might like to ask why there is no news, forthcoming events and planning applications on the new website.

The Annual Parish Meeting is chaired by the Mayor who calls this informal meeting where he presents his Annual Report and the Financial Balance Sheet for the previous year which is prepared by the Responsible Financial Officer and approved by the Internal Auditor who cannot be connected with the Council in any way. At the Annual Parish Meeting the members of the Council are public and cannot speak in any official capacity.

Rate paying residents have the right to ask any question they wish without the need to have these items placed on an agenda as officially there is no Agenda for an Annual Parish Meeting but simply a notice that the meeting is to take place.

Don"t let them pull the wool over your eyes. Ask questions and demand replies!

This is the one opportunity each year to hold the town council to account in public. Don't let the guest from Inland Homes become a distraction. This meeting is about what the Town Council has done (or not) in the past year. Come and see how shabby the Town Hall looks.
