CHICKEN feed weighing 27 tonnes was spilled onto the side of a busy road after a lorry tipped on its side.
The crash, in north Bucks, left the vehicle with a ruptured diesel tank and leaking fuel on to the carriageway.
After a precautionary check up by paramedics, the driver was not reported to have been injured.
It happened yesterday afternoon at the eastern end of the Tingewick bypass.
Firefighters from Buckingham were called out shortly before 2pm and spent 40 minutes stemming the fuel leak and clearing up the mess, before leaving police to deal with the accident.
Watch Manager Martin Howes from Buckingham Fire Station said: "The lorry shed most of its load on to the grass verge, and fortunately a larger fuel tank remained intact."
