CIVIL War came to south Bucks over the Bank Holiday weekend as troops took to the battlefield in Chalfont St Giles.

The American Civil War was recreated at the award winning Chiltern Open Air Museum as visitors took a step back in time.

Members of the Southern Skirmish Association - the country's oldest re-enactment group - turned the museum into a battleground as they recreated the Battle of Gettysburg on Sunday and Monday.

It was the group's first visit to south Bucks and chairman Joe Russell said: "We've had lots of good words back from the public."
