PUBLIC booking for an internationally renowned opera near Stokenchurch opens on Monday.
Garsington Opera's season runs from June 7 to July 20 at the Wormsley Estate.
It features three new productions: the British premiere of Rossini’s epic drama with music of enormous scale and drama and a vast chorus Maometto secondo, Humperdinck’s familiar tale Hänsel und Gretel with darkly lyrical and spell-binding music and the sparkling tale of thwarted love, capture and escape in one of Mozart’s finest operatic works - Die Enthürung aus dem Serail.
It culminates in a large community opera - Road Rage, featuring 200 people with a libretto by the well known satirist Richard Stilgoe.
Tickets range from £95 to £170, which includes a suggested but non-obligatory donation of £65. Public booking opens on Monday.
