LOOSLEY Row and Lacey Green celebrated their oldest resident who is now 105.

Connie Baker turned 105 last Friday and has lived in the village all of her life.

More than 100 residents turned out to celebrate with her last Wednesday at the Millenium Hall in Main Road, Lacey Green.

There was a birthday cake, champagne to toast Connie and refreshments.

About 30 children from St John's School joined in and the junior church choir sang a song especially adapted for Connie.

Friend Rosemary Mortham: "We were very pleased with it. Connie loved to be made a fuss of.

"She definitely thinks she is a Queen- she must grace every event locally- which is why she wore a crown.

"She is completely with it. Unfortunately her eyes and ears are not as good as she would like them to be.

"But Connie is a source of memories and history of the village. Connie knows everything there is to know about the village."
