SCANNAPPEAL'S chairman made a special visit to Rebellion Brewery in Marlow Bottom this week to personally thank the 60 staff for helping raise £51,000 for the charity at their Open Weekend.

William Baxter presented each person with a Scannappeal ambassador badge which is given to those supporters who have ‘gone the extra mile’ or volunteered for more than five years.

He said: "We are extremely grateful to Tim, Mark and the staff of the Rebellion Brewery for raising such an amazing amount on behalf of Scannappeal.

"This has provided a significant financial boost to our appeal to provide equipment for a digital breast screening service. This will radically improve early diagnosis of breast cancer so helping thousands of local women each year. It is fantastic to get such support from a successful local business."

The fundraising at Rebellion has taken this appeal past the half way point and helped fund a digital mammography machine at Wycombe Hospital.

Scannappeal now aims to raise a further £250,000 for a second machine to help create a completely digital breast screening service for the Buckinghamshire area. For further information or to support the Appeal, visit www.scannappeal.org.uk or telephone 01494 734161.
