Pupils raise money for SolarAid
GREAT Kingshill School pupils ran in scorching temperature to raise money for SolarAid.
Before the end of term 72 children aged nine to 11 years-old, ran more than two kilometres in 30 degree temperatures.
The school handed over a cheque to Steve Andrews, chief executive of SolarAid for £1,500 and this will be used to ‘solarise’ a Kenyan school, enabling the children to study when its dark as well as during the day.
The year six children have also worked hard throughout the year selling cakes and biscuits, and this combined with the funds raised from the ‘Run for the Sun’ has enabled the school to raise this significant sum.
