Jailed drug dealer who bit policeman to be kicked out of UK

A WOMAN who bit a policeman while being restrained during a drugs bust is facing a two and a half year jail term before being deported.
Karina Fitzgerald, 32, a foreign national of no fixed abode, has been found guilty of assault and intending to supply a class A drug in Hazlemere. She will be sent out of the UK once her prison sentence expires.
She was convicted by a jury at Aylesbury Crown Court on July 24 of one count of assault and two counts of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.
Police said officers on patrol in Beaumont Way, Hazlemere, at 7.50pm on March 18, witnessed what they believed was a drug deal taking place and confronted then restrained Fitzgerald. While she was being restrained, she bit the hand of one of the police officers, they said.
Once she had been arrested, officers searched the area and discovered cocaine and diamorphine nearby.
PC Dave Cannon, investigating officer, said: “I am pleased with the strong sentence handed out to Fitzgerald, who was blatantly dealing drugs then assaulted an officer when she was caught. Once she has served her sentence, she will be deported from the country.
“I hope her conviction serves as a reminder to other criminals that if you deal in drugs, you face the risk of going to prison for a considerable length of time.”
She also faced two separate charges of handling stolen goods and one of making a false statement to obtain insurance. Both of these will remain on file.
