Masked artist gives art away free in Marlow
A MYSTERIOUS masked artist has been dropping his paintings around Marlow this week for fans to pick up for free.
Letts, or Street Art Drop, as he is known, placed pieces of artwork around the town on Monday and Tuesday, having given his followers on Facebook and Twitter clues on where to find them.
The Flackwell Heath resident, who carries out his work in a mask, said lots of interest had been generated and his art had been snapped up in seconds by enthusiasts from Marlow this week.
Some fans even turned up to Marlow Common at midnight to pick up a piece he called 'Kill Bill 4'.
He said: "Marlow really took a shine to it and they're screaming for me to come back.
"They loved it and my Facebook page has gone off the wall."
He will be in Marlow for the last time, dropping about six pieces on Wednesday morning.
The painter, who began the venture in February, said: "It's bringing art as theatre outside, it's a movement. It's not been done like this before via social media."
It is a full time occupation now for the artist, who funds all the work himself, relying on donations and company sponsors.
He said: "I'm not really in it for the money, it's about sharing art and for people who can't afford art.
"They're all original pieces. It's my passion and I get a buzz out of it.
"My project is a right old mission now and is gaining pace."
He will be performing at the Retro festival in White Waltham this weekend.
