A BEACONSFIELD rapper is starring in a bizarre BBC3 series which mixes real people with staged events in a made-up place called Boom Town.

The six episode series called Boom Town starts on Wednesday night and will be on weekly at 10pm.

Produced by Knickerbockerglory it will focus on a cast of "colourful characters, each with their very own, self-composed catchphrases and quirky qualities".

And one of those characters is a 42-year-old rapper named Cream, who lives in Beaconsfield. His real name is Kai Taylor.

It is a structured reality television programme, celebrating Britain's most wonderfully eccentric individuals. Some of the programme's scenes have been enhanced for viewers’ entertainment but the individuals starring in the show are all real.

He said: "I am on top of the world at the moment. I am jumping off the ceiling with it."

Cream, which stands for Cash Rules Everything Around Me, got involved in the show through friend, Jonny Na$h, who also stars in Boom Town.

Filming took place over eight to nine months. He hasn't met any of the other cast members besides Jonny.

He said: "It is exactly the same as Eastenders. Everyone lives in Albert Square.

"I see it as a cross between Eastenders and Little Britain. It it like a sketch variation of that with real people.

"It is an exaggerated variation of your real life. It is very funny."

Cream was born in London and moved to America when he was four. He came back to the UK when he was 20 and has lived in Bucks for 17 years.

He has been a rapper since he was 14 and by the time he was 18 he was one of USA's greatest unsigned artists.

He then signed to Omega Records and had a record deal. He was the lead singer of Dead Poets. He went solo in 2000 and started touring his own stuff and has an abum coming out in September.

He has worked with Kool & The Gang, P-Diddy & The Bad Boy Family, Grace Jones, Boney M and more. Cream has also written the music for the credits for the show.

He said: "It is a platform for you to go onto other things. Every star nowadays is made on a reality show of some kind.

"I am not getting any younger and I would like to do TV."

He lived with his parents in Marlow before moving to Beaconsfield. He ran a limo company called Black Magic Limos with his friend and bodyguard, Paul Goodison. Sadly he passed away two years ago from cancer.

In the show Cream is doing lots of different part time jobs to pay his mum rent from working in a supermarket to being a librarian and a dog walker.

It was filmed in South West London. So what do his friends think about the show?

He said: "There are mixed views about it really. They don't want me to be scrutinised or laughed at in the show. I am trying to explain to them that is what it is about. "If you put a smile on people's faces. It is a comedy reality show at the end of the day. "It is very different. Something you have never seen on TV."

The other characters include a stripper, superheroes, a witch and a pub landlord.

How does he feel about being labelled eccentric?

Cream said: "I am eccentric. I am outrageous. I don't like to walk into a bar and not be seen.

"I am a show off. I dress outrageously. I wear a lot of top class suits- a lot of jewellery- I suppose it is because I am a hip hop artist.

"That is not for the show. I have always worn 30 chains around my neck- that is just me.

"I even think, to be honest, the Ali G character got his character from me.

"My hip hop was around a lot longer than Sacha Baron Cohen.

"Staines is not too far from Windsor, Marlow and Beaconsfield."

Catch Cream on Boom Town on Wednesday at 10pm on BBC3.
