9:12am Thursday 15th August 2013 in News
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a house in Terriers this morning.
The 37-year-old is currently in police custody after Thames Valley Police officers arrested him on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
Two crews from High Wycombe attended the blaze at the house in Wellesbourne Crescent at 2.55am. The ground floor was 20 per cent damaged by the fire.
Ch Insp Colin Seaton, Deputy Area Commander, said: “Although we are in the early stages of our investigation we believe that someone has deliberately set fire to the house.
“Fortunately there was nobody in the house at the time of the fire.
“A man has been arrested in connection with our enquiries and I would like to reassure residents that this is an isolated incident and there is no need for the community to be unduly concerned.”
