Bourne End man faces charity time challenge
DRIVERS travelling along the A40 this Sunday may well spot a very charitable man running for his cause.
Rob Downham, originally from Bourne End, will be running a 10.5 mile time challenge from High Wycombe to Jordans, near Beaconsfield.
The Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance staff member will be running to commemorate the end of the charity’s annual Open Garden Scheme.
He will have two hours to complete the challenge, and aims to arrive at Spindrift, Jordans, for 2pm.
From 2 to 5pm Spindrift will be open to raise funds for the air ambulance and commemorate a hopefully successful Open Gardens 2013.
Mr Downham said: "I wanted to devise a small fundraising challenge which would help me give something back to the charity and also test me at the same time - a year ago I would never have been able to do this."
Make sure to keep an eye out for Rob on Sunday, and if you would like to support Rob’s fundraising, you can make a donation via his justgiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/rob-downhamtvacaa
