Thieves confronted during digger theft
THIEVES stealing a digger from a house in Little Chalfont were confronted during the crime, but managed to speed off with the machinery.
At 10pm on Wednesday an orange Kobota Digger was stolen from a front garden in Elizabeth Avenue.
The thieves arrived in a white transit van and loaded the digger into it.
They were challenged at the time of the offence by the victims, who attempted to stop them getting away, however they were unsuccessful.
The two offenders were described as white men wearing dark hooded tops. One of the offenders had an Irish accent.
PC Roy Evans from Amersham police station said: "Were you in Little Chalfont at the time? Did you see a white van speeding off from Elizabeth Avenue?
"I would like to remind members of the public that they should not put themselves in any unnecessary danger when crimes are being committed. Do not put yourselves at risk, telephone the police and give regular updates and descriptions."
